Gateway to Africa
Gateway to Africa brought together heads of African States, statesmen, academicians, doctors and experts, as well as world renowned keynote speakers to discuss critical issues facing Africa. The topics addressed; economic development, public health and medicine, energy, education, Africa in international politics, youth and the empowerment of women.
Featured keynote speakers included, Mr. Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2007-2010), Mr. Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States of America, Mr. Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Bernard Kouchner, world-renowned humanitarian, diplomat, visionary and medical doctor, Mr. Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City, and Dr. Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. Also in attendance at the Conference were several heads of African countries and their delegations, the Chairman of the African Union, heads of NGOs and a host of experts on various topics.
